U12 Blacks knocked out in Wickersley Quarter Final
The Junior Blades U12 went out to a late goal in the Quarter Final of the Wickersley tournament against Dronfield Town.
The Blades were unlucky to concede a goal directly from a corner as the boys battled against the blustery conditions.
The team had gone unbeaten in the group stages with 3 wins and a draw and had managed 4 clean sheets in the process.
In difficult conditions with a sloped pitch and the wind blowing hard down the slope the Blades fought hard in the quarter final against a strong Dronfield Town. The Blades went close with a one on one from Alex being well saved by the Town keeper and Zac being unlucky when his lobbed attempt was headed off the line by a Town defender.
In the end, the Blades were cruelly defeated when an inswinging corner sneaked into the near post helped by the blustery wind. The goal came too late for the Blades to launch a comeback and the Blades bowed out at the Quarter Final stage.
The boys were obviously disappointed to have not gone further in the competition but overall the performances were encouraging and the team is looking forward to next weekend when they compete in the Hoyland tournament.

Β£1100 Raised at Golf Day
Sheffield United Junior Blades 1981 held there 2nd golf day today (17/7/2020) and HDM Ceilings and Partitions came away with the trophy after posting an impressive 96 points.
The event saw 84 players across 21 teams compete for the coveted JB trophy at Dore and Totley Golf Course an the Club would like to thank all of the players, sponsors and supporters of the event.
The weather was fantastic and all of the golfers made use of the beer skip kindly provided by Bradwell Skips.
Unfortunately, due to COVID 19 restrictions at the Golf Club, we could not provide any food or hold a formal presentation. We hope that this didn’t spoil anybody’s enjoyment of the event though and those taking part understand why these measures were put in place.
Hopefully for the next Golf Day some of the restrictions will have been lifted and food will be available before and after the golf as well as allowing us to present the trophies in a more formal manner at the end as well.
